ryanthekiwi Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 I can't find mention of a free park shuttle on the Hilton chain hotels in the Disneyland PRICELINE zone. Does anyone know if there are any hotels in the DL zone that don't offer a free shuttle. This would be a deal-breaker as we're not traveling with a car.
thereuare Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 Others may be able to assit you better if you indicated what star rating you were seeking... it may be that all 'known' 4* hotels offer a shuttle but that there are 2* properties which do not. (i'm not saying this is the case, but an example)If a shuttle service is a must i don't think that PRICELINE is a best option, for even if all the known hotels at the star level you are bidding offers shuttle service, you could be the first to report a new hotel to the list (and one which doesn't offer shuttle service)If you're willing to accept a little risk, you may be able to use HOTWIRE if you're able to correctly identify the hotel before your purchase with an ecceptable level of confidence, then check to see if the hotel offers shuttle service before you proceed with the transaction. Still a degree of risk depending upon how confident you are with the hotel ID, but at least you'll have an educated guess. Is it possible to intend to not rent a car, try PRICELINE or HOTWIRE (whichever you're more comfortable with based upon the above), and then opt to rent a car should you receive a hotel without shuttle service? I would think this would still be cheaper than booking a hotel direct. Also, what are the date(s) of your stay? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Does anyone know if there are any hotels in the DL zone that don't offer a free shuttle. This would be a deal-breaker as we're not traveling with a car.Even if they don't have a "free" shuttle, there is some sort of Disney shuttle that goes around to various hotels. I think the cost is $4 per day. You may want to do a bit of research online about that or check out: http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland...onAtTheParkPage. Good luck!
nic01002 Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 The Anahiem Hilton and Hoilday Inn express do not offer shuttles. ART does pick up at both hotels though.
ryanthekiwi Posted January 25, 2009 Author Report Posted January 25, 2009 Thanks for the input. The $4 shuttle sounds like it will do the job for any hotel that doesn't offer it's own shuttle. I know that with Priceline there is always the risk of getting something unexpected, but it seems pretty safe. And worst case scenario I pay for a cab each day to and from the park, still probably cheaper than paying rack rate at a hotel. My dates are Feb. 10-15, although I'm still debating whether to split this stay up and stay in LA for the first 2 nights and then Anaheim for the remaining 3. If I do this, then the question regarding the shuttle will be less important as a car rental would be in order.

rufusmaster Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 I just completed a stay at the Crowne Plaza Anaheim over the weekend 1/24-1/25. They do have a Shuttle and it is included in the $12 resort fee. Unfortunately, this resort fee was not included in my Priceline bid, so I was charged for this at the hotel.
