Priceline Hotel: Please Help, I want the W Hotel

Hello,

I am hoping to bid The W Hotel in Downtown - Harbor Island in San Diego for the following dates: 1/25/09 - 1/26/09. I want to bid it for $90 on PRICELINE. How risky would it be that they will give me a diff hotel and not the W? If that happens, what is the alternative?

Also,

I was looking thru HOTWIRE, can you help me identify the ff hotels? It's for the same dates: 1/25/09 - 1/26/09.

$104 Gaslamp Quarters - 4 star hotel - Gym, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet Access

$119 Downtown Harbor Island - 4 star hotel - gym, pool, restaurant, business center, high spped internet access.

Both in San Diego, CA.

Please help!

If you really want the W Hotel then you are better off booking it thru non-opaque channels (ie- not PRICELINE or HOTWIRE) as you're only setting yourself up for disappointment.

Thru PRICELINE there at least eleven 'known' 4* rated hotels in this zone, and the W San Diego is not one that comes up most frequently, so odds favor you receiving a different 4* property should you win a property thru PRICELINE.

With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as the property before your purchase based upon the amenities that HOTWIRE associates with the property. By using our Hotwire Hotel List you can see the amenities previously reported to be associated with the W Hotel (the amenities are subject to change over time). Not only do neither of the above offerings match that of the W Hotel, but as per the comments in the hotel list, there is at least one other property with the same exact amenities as the W (so there would be no way to differentiate between them before your purchase)
