herve121 Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Hi, I'm new to the forum and thank you for the wonderfull data we can use to have better hotels !!!! :) I will be travelling in NYC in May (1st to 6th).The Intercontinental is listed (pinned list) as "customer favourite". Is it still the case ? If yes my guess for my stay at 129$ would be the Grand Hyatt !Thanks for your help.
herve121 Posted January 21, 2009 Author Report Posted January 21, 2009 I used the PRICELINE link and got the Intercontinental The Barclay for 115$ a night (May 1st to 6th), was refused at 110$/night.Hope this hotel is fine, it's got a few bad reviews... But for 115$, I think it will be money well spent. Thanks again for your forum, it's a gold mine ! I used it for my last summer trip (wasn't registered) and got every hotel I've wanted from HOTWIRE !
AaronJB Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Thanks for posting your win and using the PRICELINE linkKeep in mind that many of those reviews are for people paying $200-250 (or, on some days as much as $300+) Their expectations are going to differ, and there are some people who - understandably - aren't going to have their expectations met when they pay that much for a hotel room.
thereuare Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Congratulations on your success! For $115/nite, i'm sure this hotel will represent good value for the amount paid.As well, you're near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which you should give a try for breakfast one morning... one of the best bagels in the city and makes for a good, and inexpensive, breakfast among locals. Thanks for using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
