mkap Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 I have been researching prices at the Resort at Singer Island and they are $400+ on other websites for the dates I want. I guessed that the HOTWIRE option was the Resort at Singer Island since it was listed as 4-stars (the only other hotel on Singer Island is a Hilton which is 3-stars). So I booked it for 1 night to confirm the hotel identity and I was right - thank you better bidding! Now I will book it for the rest of the weekend. The only issue is how many rooms we will get (they have 1BRs and 2BRs). I called the Resort and all their 1BRs only have 1 king bed. We have 4 people in our party so I hope we can get a 2BR, although hotwire does not guarantee number of beds. Also, the hotwire price on this property has fluctuated over the last 2 days. I have seen it as low as $200 and as high as $350. I booked it at $245/night. Here are the amenities from hotwire:4-star hotel in Singer IslandThis hotel features the following amenities: Resort Resorts offer a complete destination experience. Facilities generally include a spa or fitness center, one or more swimming pools, and superior dining options. Smoke Free Rooms Guest rooms at this hotel are always smoke-free. Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. Pool(s) Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal. mkap Posted January 21, 2009 Author Report Posted January 21, 2009 I looked up this property for 4 guests, and it is available for $345/night. I called the hotel to find out if we would get a 2BR with 4 guests, and they said that is not available through HOTWIRE.

mkap Posted January 21, 2009 Author Report Posted January 21, 2009 The rooms have a sofa, but no sofabeds. We are trying to figure out if we want to use HOTWIRE to book the additional nights - concerned about the risk of getting 1 king bed for 4 of us.
thereuare Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 It sounds as if you will get a 1BR... i assume the 2BR rooms cost most via the hotel's website? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. kiawahgrl Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 I am also trying to plan a trip to Singer Island (april for me). I played around with numbers and it is 295/night for 4 adults and 202/night for 2 adults and 2 kids. I went last year at the sametime using HOTWIRE and paid 342/night (2 adults/2 kids). We got a two bedroom upon arrival. I am thinking the less amount (202) could be for the 1 bedroom cuz of the kids and the 295 for the two bedroom. I also am thinking that maybe a hotel would lead you to think you would not get the two bedroom on HOTWIRE cuz they sensed your need for the two bedroom and wanted you to book with them (just my opinion). anyway, for what it is worth, last year, i booked thru HOTWIRE and got a two bedroom(a corner room with wrap around balcony at that). it is a really nice place and they pride themselves on customer service. maybe chat up the person when you check-in (complement their tie, jewelry, nails, etc..) and then if you get a one bedroom, nicely ask if they have any open two bedrooms. this is my first post so i hope i am following the rules concerning my opinions.
