AMT Posted January 19, 2009 Author Report Posted January 19, 2009 Date of stay is Jan 28 - 30th. I think based on the number of tripadvisor reviews it has that it must be The Palms. On their website, the best internet rate is $110. Not such a huge deal if this is the case.
thereuare Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 The above is a match for the Palms so that would be our best guess, and i agree, not much savings vs.a conventional booking.Have you thought about trying PRICELINE to try to beat this HOTWIRE / hotel direct price? (realizing you wouldn't be bidding for this particular property)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. AMT Posted January 19, 2009 Author Report Posted January 19, 2009 I tried Priceline last night up to $88 but wasn't successful. I didn't want to go too much higher because I know they add in fees so I didn't want to overbid.
thereuare Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 So with less than 10 days to go before check-in, what is your back-up plan should nothing change (ie- all rates remain the same)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. AMT Posted January 20, 2009 Author Report Posted January 20, 2009 Price is $110 for basic room online on their website and $134 for Oceanview. Not sure how good a deal we got - but heck how bad can a 3/4 * hotel be for $95 :)
thereuare Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Thank you for sharing your winning bid with the board.Since you purchased this on PRICELINE, did you try bidding lower or was this your first bid in the zone? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. AMT Posted January 20, 2009 Author Report Posted January 20, 2009 Bids of $85 and $90 were rejected. $95 accepted. Spoke to a nice person at the hotel this morning regarding room requests. She was very accomodating to our needs.
