countryhomebrew Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 New poster, new to site. Is there any way of getting Mandalay for the above dates through PRICELINE? I saw that THEHotel is the only 5 star in the South Strip. Is this still correct? Thanks for all the replies.

countryhomebrew Posted January 19, 2009 Author Report Posted January 19, 2009 No you can't bid for just Mandalay Bay. You are bidding for a zone and star level only.I know that I can't choose a hotel, but according to the priceline guide on the top of this page, the only five star in the south strip zone is THEHotel. I was just wondering if anyone had any new information. Thanks for the replies!
AaronJB Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 The list only provides hotels that have been reported. There is no guarantee that you will not get something previously unreported. Going into PRICELINE thinking that a hotel is "guaranteed" has a real likelyhood of leading to disappointment.
countryhomebrew Posted January 21, 2009 Author Report Posted January 21, 2009 I've been studying the priceline maps and I think the only 5 stars in the south strip zone are Bellagio, THEhotel, and Four Seasons. I'd be happy with any of those. I really would like to have a nice pool and all three are open during that time and are rated nice. Any comments before I give it a try?

countryhomebrew Posted January 21, 2009 Author Report Posted January 21, 2009 We've already been offered $79, $139, and $149 at Mandalay Bay for 3/26-3/29 and $110 per night for THEHotel. I would like to get under 100 for THEHotel or any 5 star with a pool on the South Strip. Thanks for any suggestions.
thereuare Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 I would just take THEhotel for $110/nite, but if you want to try bidding on PRICELINE for something better, you can try as follows:At the 5* level you have SEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 5* South Strip...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $93, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. FUTURESTAR Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 I'm also curious how you were "offered" these rates.
countryhomebrew Posted January 26, 2009 Author Report Posted January 26, 2009 Sorry I should have been more clear, there are several of us going and some are considered to be heavy gamblers. The rates they were offered were for several rooms at the mentioned rate. To follow up I followed the advice of thereuare and didn't get any rooms up to $100 per night. We are waiting on some more people to join our group then I will rebid following the same advice. I just was offered through email Mandalay Bay for $113 per night. If we don't get something cheap through priceline we'll probably just use that offer. I was really wanting to use the pools at Mandalay anyway. Thanks for all you help and if I get lucky through PRICELINE I'll let you know.
