mcc87 Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Hi,what a great site - it's been great reading but now i'm looking for some help please.I'd like to stay in Boston for two nights 18th Feb - 20th Feb 4 or 5*. Hotwire looks quite good and i get how you can guess the hotel on that, but priceline scares me a bit!Looking for somewhere really nice and central - not sure what to do nextThanks in advanceMCC
AaronJB Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Welcome to the site. What would be your max budget per night for hotel?
mcc87 Posted January 16, 2009 Author Report Posted January 16, 2009 Probably $120 - this seems to include most 4 - 5 star hotels on hotwireThrough HOTWIRE i'm getting 4.5* Quincy for $113 with non-smoking, fitness, pool, restaurant, business centre, laundry, high-speed internet and spa. 4* BackBay/Copley Square for $116 Boutique, non-smoking, fitness, restaurants, high-speed internet. Any idea what these might be?Reading the forum i'm thinking 4.5* quincy is the Intercontinental but i can't see a 4* boutique - any suggestions?Again - not sure about PRICELINEThanks
AaronJB Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 It's understandable regarding PRICELINE, and HOTWIRE is a good first step towards PRICELINE. Let me research these dates and see what I can find. Be back in a couple minutes.
AaronJB Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 The 4* looks to be a potential match for the Copley Square hotel. The 4.5* would appear to be the Intercontinental; it hasn't been reported with a smoke-free icon before, but the hotel does appear to be SF (Orbitz.com lists it as smoke-free, too.) also lists it as a smoke-free property), so that may be a new amenity. If you want a less expensive property, there is a 3.5* in the Boston Common/Theatre District Area with the amenities: Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access, Tennis Nearby for $76, which would appear to be the Radisson. That's not a huge discount off the hotel's $99 rate, but you could save the difference between what you were going to spend on the 4/4.5* and put it towards other things. On the high end, Orbitz.com has the Onyx Hotel for $143. Use coupon code 20HOTEL for 20% off = $114.4Please use the site's HOTWIRE link (or the Orbitz.com link) to start your purchase, and let us know the results and if you have any questions.
mcc87 Posted January 18, 2009 Author Report Posted January 18, 2009 After advice from here decided to brave priceline as prices were considerably cheaperGot Hyatt Regency 2/18-2/20 for $61 a nightUsed the PRICELINE link through here - thanks for all the help
