KevG Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 Hi!I am looking for some advice on how I can get a good price 5* hotel on the strip in Aug 09 for 12 nights. The hotel we would love to stay in is the Bellagio. We would also consider the Wynn, Venetian and the Luxor as we have stayed at the Luxor before.I have ran a search through Hotwire already and didnt find any 5* hotels on my dates. I also would like to possibly try Priceline but I am scared that I do not get the hotels that I would be looking for. Could anyone offer me some assistance ?
thereuare Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! What are the actual dates of your stay?Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. KevG Posted January 18, 2009 Author Report Posted January 18, 2009 HiThanks for the reply, splitting is not really an option for us as we would rather not change hotels. Our exact dates of stay are 8/28 to 9/9.
thereuare Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 If there are 5* hotels in the area that you are trying to avoid then you are probably best to avoid PRICELINE as there is no way to target, or avoid, a particular hotel in the zone.I am seeing 5* hotels for your dates, but they're upwards of $175+/nite... what is your maximum budget (per nite before fees and taxes) for this stay? The Luxor is not really considered a 5* hotel, but if you like that property, it is avaialble HERE for $110/nite (average) for your dates. At the moment, if you're looking for a "deal", you will likely need to consider SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. KevG Posted January 19, 2009 Author Report Posted January 19, 2009 Max would be around $200 per night.
thereuare Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 With the Luxor available for $110/nite are you willing to pay nearly twice as much for a 5*?HOTWIRE has a 5* in the Central Strip zone with:CasinoFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterGolf NearbyTennis NearbySpa Servicesfor $185/nite... this is a match for the Wynn and that would be our best guess. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed, or if you g wtih one of the above, how it goes. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. KevG Posted January 20, 2009 Author Report Posted January 20, 2009 Thanks, with people getting the Wynn for $90-$110 I think I'll wait a while to see if the price comes down a little. Not sure why my price is $185 and others are getting it for around $90 ? Also, yes we would pay more over the luxor. :)
