Rhine-and-Roses Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 I bid in dozens of combinations of 3, 3.5, and 4 star hotels in Copley, Quincy Mkt, Cambridge, up to $100 and nothing was to be had the weekends of 21s and 28th August. Anyone from Boston have any insight?
thereuare Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 There may be an event going on, but summer cab be expensive in Boston and it is still far in advance of your stay. If it is a busy 'season', and a hotel thinks they may be able to sell most of their rooms on their own, there is little reason for them to offer rooms to the opaque providers 5+ months in advance at a very deep discount.Have you tried searching HOTWIRE? If you're tying to get this done, there is a 3.5* in the Back Bay zone for $112/nite (which i would likely sooner take over a 3* for $100) for 8/21-8/23. (if you're wiling to go this high we'll take a further look and try to ID it)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated and let us konw if we can be of further help. Rhine-and-Roses Posted January 18, 2009 Author Report Posted January 18, 2009 I did look through Hotwire too, and decided the hotel you mention is probably the Sheraton at the Prudential Center. I stayed there one night last summer and think (at least at this point) that I'd rather take my chances than take this hotel. I got one of the "bad" rooms. I'd only stay there again if I got some fantastic deal. I'll be on government orders, so if worse comes to worse, I'll just extend at the hotel I'm at with my orders for $203 per night. If anyone sees any great deals between now and then, please post.
