Priceline Hotel: Good Grief! What's Happening in Boston late August?

There may be an event going on, but summer cab be expensive in Boston and it is still far in advance of your stay. If it is a busy 'season', and a hotel thinks they may be able to sell most of their rooms on their own, there is little reason for them to offer rooms to the opaque providers 5+ months in advance at a very deep discount.

Have you tried searching HOTWIRE? If you're tying to get this done, there is a 3.5* in the Back Bay zone for $112/nite (which i would likely sooner take over a 3* for $100) for 8/21-8/23. (if you're wiling to go this high we'll take a further look and try to ID it)

I did look through Hotwire too, and decided the hotel you mention is probably the Sheraton at the Prudential Center. I stayed there one night last summer and think (at least at this point) that I'd rather take my chances than take this hotel. I got one of the "bad" rooms. I'd only stay there again if I got some fantastic deal. I'll be on government orders, so if worse comes to worse, I'll just extend at the hotel I'm at with my orders for $203 per night. If anyone sees any great deals between now and then, please post.
