american in aussie Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 I see everyone's great deals for Wynn, but am having trouble myself securing anything 5* on 2/25-3/1. If need be 2/26-3/1 also works for us. Yesterday, HW had no 5* for the longer date range. Now they show $179-185. I wondered if you could suggest a plan of attack for me.Yesterday: PL 5* Las Vegas Strip North & South has been rejected at $110. No counter.Today: PL 5* Las Vegas Strip North & South has been rejected at $100. Countered at $171.We are willing to go lower star but aren't sure what it reasonable starting point for PL bids and which regions to include. I see a 3* Strip North on Hotwire for $29. I assume I should run scared of whichever hotel it is.Thanks in advance for helping with strategy. This is for two people (shared bed fine) and one room.Amy
american in aussie Posted January 16, 2009 Author Report Posted January 16, 2009 Please disregard. I opted to gamble with the $29 HW price. I used the HOTWIRE links from this site and will post the results in the HW forum.
american in aussie Posted January 16, 2009 Author Report Posted January 16, 2009 First, we used the HOTWIRE link from this site. Thank you very much. This is our second booking using tips from Better Bidding. We will likely use more as we are travelling for over a month. Thank you.Despite warnings of about 3* hotels in Vegas, we opted to jump on a $29 hotel offer for 2/25/09-3/1/09 in the strip north. It is NASCAR weekend in Vegas and other preferable hotels were slightly elevated in price. For $29, we are staying at the Sahara. We find this a tad ironic because the NASCAR cafe is in the Sahara and we are not attending for the race.Amenities that showed up on main page and by checking for additional amenities after continuing were consistent: CASINO, POOL, RESTAURANT, BUSINESS CENTER, INTERNET, NEARBY GOLFThank you for your help, betterbidding team and forum members!
AaronJB Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Thank you for posting your win and using the site's HOTWIRE link.We look forward to being able to help with future trip plans. :)Enjoy your stay in Vegas.
