Priceline Hotel: Resort San Juan InterContinental

I was new to PRICELINE before reading your site and following your links. I don't know if I executed the strategy right , but I thought to share my results.

I received the Intercontinental at $120 for 3/1 , 1 night. I bid San Juan Resort from 80 to 115 in 5-dollar increments over a few days. Today I received the bite at a price $5 higher. Hopefully I didn't overbid.

I was looking for the Caribe/Mariott close to OSJ, but wasn't tied to that area. But comparing the rack price of $270 a night at the Intercontinental and checking the reviews online, I feel like its going to be a good 1-night stay.

We arrive in San Juan post cruise at 6am. Do you think there is any chance we can check in early off a priceline reservation? The priceline confirmation says check-in is at 4pm.

Congratulations on your success... an excellent deal for this property.

Unless you have high status with the cruise line you're traveling on you won't be departing the ship anywhere near 6am... you'll be one of the last off the ship since you don't have travel plans to catch, as well as find your luggage in the 'warehouse' and get a cab to the hotel, i'd be surprised if you arrive at the hotel much before 11am.

Wether or not you are able to check-in early will depend upon room availablity at the time you arrive at the hotel. If the hotel is crowded from the previous nite they may not have a room available to give you at that time, but they will be able to hold your luggage and you can use the facilities of the hotel (including the pool and beach).
