Hotwire Hotel: Help ID Hotel Aruba 5/2009

Hi All - New to this board (was directed to it from one of the Aruba forums) and happy to be here.

We are looking to travel to Aruba this summer either 5/14-5/23 or sometime in August. Hotwire currently has a hotel listed for $162 a night with the following amenities:

4-star hotel in Palm Beach - Oranjestad, Aruba

This hotel features the following amenities:

Resort:

Near Beach: Property is located within easy walking distance of a beach.

Casino: Property offers a full-service casino accessible from the lobby.

Smoke Free Rooms: Guest rooms at this hotel are always smoke-free.

Fitness Center: Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply.

Pool(s): Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal.

Restaurant(s): Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary.

Business Center: Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply.

Laundry Facilities: <amenity names only please... not descriptions>

High-speed Internet Access: Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra charge may apply.

Golf Nearby: Property is located within walking distance or a short drive of at least one golf course; an extra charge typically applies.

Also: Any advice as to what might be available via priceline in the 4* category for the week+ in May? I would really like to stay on Plam beach and would prefer the West, Marriott, or Hyatt, the Raddison doesn't look bad either.

You ask, "Any advice as to what might be available via priceline in the 4* category for the week+ in May?" Unfortunately, no one can know for sure, as there's no way to know PRICELINE's inventory. You have to be aware of what you *could* get and be willing to accept whatever the service offers you.

Is the HOTWIRE date for the May dates....or August dates? What are the August dates? How many in your party? (so I know what to search for when trying to research.)

The hotwire price and description is the same for May 14-23 as it is for August 13-22. It would be myself and boyfriend traveling.

This would appear to be a possible match for the Renaissance, which is a 4* on the vacation package side of HOTWIRE and matches the amenity list (Resort, Near Beach, Casino, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services, Children's Activity Program) on the VP side of HOTWIRE, as well.

If the potential Renaissance sounds good to you, I would take the HOTWIRE listing; if not, I'd consider PRICELINE.
