TommyV Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 First bid $50, then $59, then $69 and finally accepted at $79. All bids for 4 star hotels in the North Michigan Ave-River North category, adding a new category each time that didn't have any 4 star options. Taxes and Fees are $19.85 for a total of $98.85. Cheapest room on westin.com is $171.95 (including taxes and fees). I don't see parking rates posted anywhere but I'm guessing the minimum will be $39/night. Thanks,TommyV
AaronJB Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Welcome to the site. :)Ridiculously good deal for one of the nicest 4*'s in the city. Usually I tell people not to get their hopes up for an upgrade when they make a PRICELINE or HOTWIRE reservation, but in terms of this property, I'd highly recommend asking politely at check-in about any upgrades to a river view room, as the hotels on the river (South) side of the building offer gorgeous views. They may say no, but it's worth a try. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links for future purchases.
TommyV Posted February 21, 2009 Author Report Posted February 21, 2009 I asked about an upgrade at check-in and they offered a room with a computer. This was only because I was a Starwood member, I signed up after booking the room on PRICELINE. The room ended up being very nice and the computer came in handy when searching for a good breakfast spot.
