Hotwire Hotel: 3* Houston (Northwest-Brookhollow) La Quinta Northwest

I booked this thru HOTWIRE BetterBidding website. I was not expecting the La Quinta Inn since all major websites have this hotel at a 2*. I called Hotwire and they are to get back with me in 7 days regarding possible alternate accommodations and a credit. I will update you when I have their solution.

Hotwire won't budge from their rating even though 4 top websites have this at a 2*. I sent this info to them and they are making no accomodations. To add to this, there is a gentleman's club .1 mile from the hotel.

Any suggestions on getting them to change this?

Can you please provide the amenities shown before your purchase... you can still view these by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page. This information will help others choose/avoid this property in the future.

Are all amenities HOTWIRE associates with this property available at the hotel? (this would be your best "out")

I'm not sure what you will be able to do given the timeframe before your stay (check-in is today) and I don't think the gentleman's club should play into your argument (while it may not be a characteristic you would want in a property, it really doesn't have anything to do with the star level of this property, which is the main point of your argument).

HOTWIRE states that they determine star ratings by:

* Visiting and inspecting thousands of properties each year

* Carefully benchmarking our star ratings against those of other travel sites and ratings authorities

* Soliciting customer feedback following every stay and adjusting our ratings accordingly

* Investigating star-rating concerns and following up directly with customers

(bold added by me)

Ask them what other companies rate this property 3 stars?

Lastly, if upon check-in you determine there are issues with the hotel (this should be tangible things, not "it looks tacky" etc), you can try contacting HOTWIRE via telephone and to see if there is any way to resolve the issue or they can work the hotel to release your reservation.
