Mauidan Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 AlohaI know there is a certain excitement you get when you are bidding on something. But, I want to mention to be cautious if you are bidding on a rental car in Hawaii in high season or in a peak rental period. Due to the economy in the last quarter of 08',many agencies reduced their fleets by 40% or so. But, go ahead and bid, just be aware locations are selling out faster now thus driving up the rates. I would book the best deal you can find in the meantime so you have something to fall back on. We are now seeing sell outs happening on normal weekends on the Big Island, Oahuand Maui with nothing special happening. Again, go ahead and bid, but think about securing a vehicle just in case. I hope this is helpful to all..Happy new year and good luck bidding!
Parksville Don Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 Just thought I would add what I found out when renting cars on Oahu. Enterprise car rentals offer really good deals if you only want to rent from Friday morning to Monday morning. Usually about $12 a day.
