Hi, I have been doing a lot of reading on this site in preparation for our trip to Vegas for our 20th anniversary in May. I have been watching Hotwire during these dates and there is a 5* Central Strip for $106 per night. I am assuming from what I have read here that it is the Wynn. Do you recommend booking now as this seems to be a really good price? I have also though about doing a Priceline bid in hopes of getting the Venetian which sounds more romantic for our special occasion. Any thoughts?

The amenities listed for the Hotwire 5* are:

Casino, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, golf nearby, tennis nearby and spa

Happy 20th! :)

PRICELINE and HOTWIRE are not recommended when it comes to a special occasion, as - much like Vegas - they are gambling. If you bid on PRICELINE, you could potentially get another hotel besides the Venetian.

The lowest price on the Wynn website for these dates is $489, so I would say that $106 seems like a deal you should consider booking reasonably soon. :)

Not sure what's going on on these dates, but prices at the Wynn and a few other properties seem unusually high.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your travel purchases, and let us know how it goes.

I checked those dates for you and I'm 95% sure it's the Wynn. The reason is because the Trip Advisor gives 1460 reviews, and the Venitian has more reviews than that by a couple hundred. I booked a few days ago with the exact same description and I got the Wynn.

Thanks! :) I think we will go with this as the rates for everything else are really high that week for some reason. Even the 4*'s are way more, I wonder what is going on? I will use the HOTWIRE link and let you know.

After much thought, I decided to try a Priceline bid for a 5* and ended up getting the Wynn for $90 :)! Very happy about this! The Hotwire price was $106 so I am saving a bit. Makes up for the US exchange rate :). Thanks for this site as I felt prety confident in my Priceline bidding armed with all this info!

:) After watching on Hotwire for a week or so what I was pretty sure was the Wynn for $106, I decided to make a Priceline bid an see what happened.

$70 rejected- they countered with $100- did not accept

$80 rejected- they countered with $100- did not accept

added a zone and bid at $90- accepted :)

Would have been happy with any of the 5*'s listed but happy I got the Wynn!! Trip is a long ways off but now I can quit stressing about it!
