Glad I could be of assistance, and glad you were able to take advantage of this fantastic rate! :)

I'd nicely ask at checkin if there are any upgrades available, and see what they say (no guarantees, but again - slow period, so it may go well.)

Enjoy your trip.

Hey Aaron (or anyone else who will take pity on me),

Looked like a great deal so I tried but no luck. I just joined so probably messed something up. My family (husband + 2 teenagers) need a hotel this weekend (1-17-1/19). Would like to be near Broadway or Time Square, shopping, etc. Any other thoughts?

Thanks so much,

Herself

Welcome to the site.

The issue here is four people in the room, which will result in higher prices due to the fact that rooms w/2 beds often go for a premium in NYC, a city where rooms can be infamously small.

What is your budget per night for hotel?

God you're good (and quick!)

$125? (because I figure after taxes/fees I'm looking at $150) Am I dreaming? Looking for clean and good location.

HOTWIRE (please use the site's link to HOTWIRE to start your purchase.)

When I search for 2 adults/2 children for 1/17-19, I see:

(the prices you see may differ slightly)

4* Midtown Central - $139 - Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business (likely Sheraton NY)

3* Midtown Central - $89 - Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet - Likely Holiday Inn Midtown

3* Empire State Building - $66 - free breakfast, fitness, business, internet --- ??? Unidentified (although awfully cheap, whatever it is.)

3* Midtown E - $113 - Suite, fitness, business, restaurant, 'net - likely Beekman Tower.

Quikbook.com (please use the site's link to Quikbook.com to start your purchase.)

$150 for the Hudson Hotel, which your teenagers may like more than you (it's a very hip, trendy hotel - more a "scene" with a hotel than a hotel with a "scene")

Orbitz.com (Please use the site's link to Orbitz.com to start your purchase.)

New York Helmsley - 4* $165. Use 20HOTEL coupon code for 20% off = about $132.

Vincci Avalon - 4* - $169 20HOTEL coupon code - 20% = about $135.

The cheap 3* ESB on HOTWIRE may be the Clarion; not the most upscale or most well-reviewed, but well-located and an instance of something you may want to take a risk on if you are looking for just someplace cheap to sleep at night. If you want something more upscale, some of the other choices may appeal.

The Hampton Inn 35th St may also be another possibility for the 3* ESB.

Thanks so much. A lot of great options there. I think I'll wait to discuss with the family tonight but I will definitely let you know what we decide. You've been a great help, I truly appreciate it. I'm a bit overwhelmed by NYC so this makes it a bit easier to navigate!

Good morning! :)

Glad to see you were able to take advantage of this tremendous deal. Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE link and reporting your win, as well.

The actual retail price for these dates on the hotel website is $199, so your HOTWIRE deal is a pretty significant savings
