nic01002 Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Just found this site. I am an avid Priceline user and have used to stay at Disneyland before. This time I won a trip and get to stay 2 nights at the Disneyland Hotel. But I refuse to pay so much for some extra nights. So I will stay at a different hotel the first night and the last night. Usually I have been able to get a 3 star (on the old rating) for undre $50 and have stayed at the Hilton, Hyatt, and Crowne Plaza using priceline in the Disneyland aree. However this time I have been bidding 3 1/2 star and have bid upto $55 and have not been accepted. Usaully I only start bidding 2 weeks ahead of time instead of a whole month. I am just wondering if I should go higher on my bid, if because the hotels we usally stay at have been put in the new category are the same hotels going to be more? And I use the links to bid
thereuare Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!I believe this is President's Week when many schools have off, so many families are likely planning Disney trips during this timeframe which is increasing deamand (and prices) for hotel rooms.Have you checked HOTWIRE? Prices there don't seem too high at the moment, so i suspect that you're not too far off. Given the time before your stay I wouldn't chase this one, but if you're willing to spend a few more dollars to just have this be done with then i would do so... if you'd rather wait it out i'd book a cancellable back-up to protect yourself should prices rise from here. Please also use separate threads for each leg of your stay (you may win a different hotel for each date, or the same hotel at different prices, so keeping them separate allows us to ultimately reflect the details of each in its own thread). Going forward we'll use this thread for your 2/16 stay... feel free to start a NEW TOPIC for your 2/19 day. Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. nic01002 Posted January 14, 2009 Author Report Posted January 14, 2009 So after going several days of bidding from $45 to $55 I was accepted last night with a bid of $48 for the Crowne Plaza for the 16th of Febuary. My wifde ended up doing the bidding and she started out at $48 while I had been doing it earlier and starting at $45 and then using free rebids. Only once did I get a "if you ad $14 to your bid" when I had bid $52 and I of course rejected it as I had plenty of time. I used the PRICELINE link
thereuare Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Congratulations on your win!Hope you're happy with the results and that this works well for your needs.Thank you for sharing the results with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.
