BryceEL Posted January 9, 2009 Author Report Posted January 9, 2009 Comfort Hotel Median NOT in the Opera area. This one is the Arc de Triomphe area.Hotel Maxim Quartier Latin NOT in the Opera area. This one is the Latin Qtr.Royal Aboukir Cannot locate this one.Hotel Baudelaire Bastille NOT in the Opera area. This one is in the Republique.Best Western Astra Opera IS in the Opera area.Hotel Royal Opera MAY be considered in the Opera area but Expedia lists it in the Champs Elysees.Hotel Delavigne NOT in the OPera area. This is in the Latin Qtr.Hotel Waldorf Trocadero NOT in the Opera area.
thereuare Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 You can see the Royal Aboukir on a map HERE and to me it does look to be in the Opera-Grand Boulevard zone... but they only have 36 rooms which doesn't sound much like a 4* hotel nor a sized hotel that HOTWIRE typically deals with, so i would discount this selection a little.Best Western Astra Opera is 4* rated by Expedia so we'll keep this on the "possible" listHotel Royal Opera looks to be on the border of this zone, but is only a 30 room hotel, so again, not likely a HOTWIRE participant.Looking further at the Best Western it does not have a restaurant but does offer business services and internet (the two icons shown above)... so hardly conclusive, but if i were to take a guess, the Best Western Astra Opera would be my best guess. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. BryceEL Posted January 11, 2009 Author Report Posted January 11, 2009 Thank you for your assistance. I ended up using Priceline instead of Hotwire and won on my first bid the following:HOTEL DU LOUVRESelected only one zone: Opera Qtr. EastJan 27 - Jan 302 roomsYour Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$175.00 Subtotal: US$1,050.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$93.46 Total Charges: US$1,143.46 I think this is a great deal considering what the hotel is charging via its own website for same dates.
