neal124
FYI: I tried to Priceline a hotel in Chicago for 7/30/04-8/1/04 and tried various strategies such as bidding in NMA, River North and the Loop 4* numerous times over the week preceding my trip using rebids and my wife's info. I never went higher than $95 and we didn't get anything. I then tried 3* in River North and NMA and bid up to $87 and did not get anything. Finally, using www.farechase.com, I found a room at the Hyatt Regency for $99 via Travelocity the night before the trip. I canceled my backup reservation at the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart. The Hyatt was great and it was a great price for a guaranteed good hotel. I didn't think that it was worth breaking $100 on Priceline even though it seemed like a busy weekend. www.betterbidding.com was very helpful during my hunt for this hotel room but sometimes Priceline just doesn't work out, I found. Thanks for your help. Link to comment
