sfo Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 I need help identifying this 3.5* hotel in downtown Vancouver entertainment district. Amenities are listed as:Fitness, Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet Access, Tennis NearbyIt's listed for $104 for 5/22/09 - 5/24/09Trip Advisor 3.0 out of 5Based on 20+ customer reviews (Last reviewed October 2008)The entertainment district which is Granville Street from Drake to about Nelson has the BW Chateau Granville, the Comfort Inn, the Moda which is a remodled old hotel now billing itself as a Luxury property it is located on Seymour Street one block off of Granville, There is another Best Western located at Granville and Drake, and an upscale property in Yaletown which is considered part of the entertainment area, called the Opus. Misleading is the Tennis courts nearby, I live downtown and there are no tennis courts around that area that I am awhere of. The entertainment district is by no means a nice place, I would stay away from there, drunks, drugs and homeless abound.
staceyeileen Posted January 6, 2009 Author Report Posted January 6, 2009 Began bidding at $80 two days ago and used free re-bid zones to increase bid in $5 increments each time. Finally bid of $120 was accepted for The Sutton Place. Pretty happy with this deal, although their website states rooms have either 1 king or 2 twins. Twins? Are they serious?!The Sutton Place Hotel-Vancouver845 Burrard StreetVancouver, BC V6Z 2K6604-682-5511 Check-In: Friday, May 22, 2009-03:00 PMCheck-Out: Sunday, May 24, 2009-12:00 PMSummary of ChargesRoom Cost (avg. per room, per night): $120.00 (USD)Number of Rooms: 1Number of Nights: 2Room Subtotal: $240.00 (USD)Taxes and Fees: $48.60 (USD)Total Room Cost: $288.60 (USD)
tilepusher Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 The hotel appears to be a match for the Executive Hotel Vintage Park, but I see that you've already booked a hotel through Priceline. The Entertainment District zone on Hotwire is fairly large and many areas of it are just fine. The area that most Vancouverites would call the entertainment district is not very nice, I agree. But it's only a small part of this zone.
staceyeileen Posted January 6, 2009 Author Report Posted January 6, 2009 Yes, I have already booked on Priceline but thanks so much for the help!
