Hoping to book somewhere for 13-17th Jan and have found a couple of options:

1:

4star hotel in Times Square - Theatre District - $173/night

boutique/fitness/internet 4/5 on tripadvisor on 280+ reviews

== Hotel Mela ??

doesn't seem to be a great saving since they're offering $198 direct through their site.

2:

4* mid town east - $132

fitness/business/internet/tennis/restaurant

tripadvisor 4/5 on 520+ reviews

== Helmsley ??

3:

4.5* mid town east - $219/night

fitness/business/internet/restaurant

4/5 tripadvisor on 80+ reviews

== Loews Regency ?

hoping to pick up a 4* in times sq/midtown east/central. really like the sound of the sofitel but not sure if this is comes up on hotwire.

would appreciate any tips/advice

Best guess for each:

1) Hotel Mela

2) matches both the Grand Hyatt and the InterContinental Barclay, but the Inter-Continental is the better guess and more likely of the two, imo

3) can you doublecheck if this property is actually in the MTE zone as you posted... on my HOTWIRE search for your dates a hotel that you listed appears in the MTC zone

picked up a good deal via your HOTWIRE link last night for a 3.5* Times Sq (4/5 tripadvisor), which id'd as the Room Mate Grace (hadn't seen this one before) for $116.

looks small, but neat and tidy. should be perfect.
