happy78 Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 I'll be in Vegas March 13-15 and would like to get a room at a 5*. I'm seeing a lot of winning bids around $80-100 a night but my initial bids were not successful. What is going on that weekend and are there any tips for me? I'm familiar with the rebid process.
thereuare Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 How high have you bid for these dates? There is a 65K person merchandising convention which Las Vegas can easily handle, but is also probably affecting hotel prices a bit. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. happy78 Posted January 5, 2009 Author Report Posted January 5, 2009 I bid up to $85. I have a lot of time so I started the bid low.
thereuare Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 The Venetian was won for dates just before yours for $80/nite, as per this Priceline Las Vegas Venetian thread. However, rates for those dates direct from the Venetian website are $149/nite...while the (more expensive weekend) dates you're looking for are $249/nite, so currently it will likely take more than the sub-$100 you're bidding. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. happy78 Posted February 24, 2009 Author Report Posted February 24, 2009 I wanted to come back to the board and update you on my win. I bid a couple of weeks ago. Started low and started adding free re-bids in $5 increments. Won the Trump for $90 per night for three rooms.
