janieb25 Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 I just booked one night at the Drake for 1/4/09 for $75 for 2 adults. My first bid was $65 for a 4* in that zone. I was counter-offered a room in that zone for $17 more. Instead, I added the Lincoln Park zone since I didn't see any 4*'s there and increased the bid from $65 to $75. The Drake is a beautiful hotel and I am excited about our stay! I made the reservation through PRICELINE's link on this website (BetterBidding). Does anyone have any information about parking? janieb25
AaronJB Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 Parking is:Self Parking: 30.00 USDOvernightValet Parking: 48.00 USD(taken from the hotel website.)You're probably not going to find any better than $30 for self park in that area and if you do, the differences will be minimal (another lot in the area may be $25 versus $30.)Outstanding win for the Drake! :)

janieb25 Posted January 10, 2009 Author Report Posted January 10, 2009 Woops! I didn't mean to add the last post. What I wanted to do was to follow up on our stay at the Drake. It was wonderful!!! We found parking on Walton right west of Michigan Avenue on the north side of the street for $26.25 cash for 24 hours (by googling "parking Chicago"). I had called the Drake ahead of time to ask for a room with a nice view. When we checked in they gave us a large king bedded room on the 10th floor. We did not see the lake or Michigan Avenue, but the view was actually very nice. As I said, the room was large with a flat screen TV & bathrobes. The Drake could not have been more lovely to us and they never mentioned Priceline. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and even ate in The Cape Cod room, a very well known old restaurant in the hotel. janieb25
AaronJB Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Thank you for following up - glad you enjoyed your stay! :)Certainly a remarkable property, and glad you were able to get it for such a great price.
