Priceline Hotel: Staying in Vegas 2/7 to 2/14

I've done more than my share of bidding at priceline in other cities.....but I'm finally making a trip to vegas and I think i may need a little advice regarding some priceline bidding....

I haven't really stayed in a city with any 5 star hotels before and it will most likely be a while before I do so again.....as such.....if I can pin one down around 100-110 a night then I will most likely swing it......

for the dates I'm going....hotwire has what looks like the Wynn for 119 a night......but I'd rather stay at the Venetian and i've seen some people grabbing it up at 80 or less a night......

as far as I am aware....there is nothing special going on the dates that I'll be there...I've done some bidding on priceline as of today up to 150 a night with no success.....no counteroffers or anything.....(north strip with free rebids and permutations) I've pretty much ran the entire gap from 80 to 150......

seeing as to how I've got about a month before I really HAVE to have a room locked down.......do you guys think maybe I should wait until closer to my trip before trying at priceline again? I mean....if all else fails I can probably just go with hotwire if I run out of options....

On that same note......my sister and her husband are coming in a few days later....2/11 to 2/14........any advice for them as far as what to do regarding a room?

Anything you guys can help with would be great......I'm really losing my head over this.....

Welcome to BetterBidding!

There is a 30K person convention (World Shoe Associate) 2/12-2/14 as well as a 14K peron convention (Wedding Photopraphers)... while neither is large by Vegas standards, together they will fill a modeerate number of rooms. Add to this 2/13 is the start of Valentines' weekend and i think these three aspects are contributing to your lack of success.

Lastly, the length of your stay could be an issue as well, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?

Splitting the bid is an option....My sister and husband come in the middle of the week that I'll be there.....so I could split it at that point.....and stay 4 nights and then 3.......I don't really mind staying at two different places either.....so I suppose that would work.....I guess I'll have to start attempting that way to see if I have any luck....
