lclprettymama Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 $40 bid 3.5* orange county (Disneyland)- got nothingadded Anaheim Hills area and bid $45 -nothingI am trying to win the Anaheim Hilton suites for 1 night 1-3-09, any help would be great!
AaronJB Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 Are you willing to accept another hotel besides the Anaheim Hilton? You could very easily get a different hotel by bidding on PRICELINE, as there are several possible 3.5*'s in this area.HOTWIRE has a 3.5* in the Anaheim-Disneyland South area for $56 with the amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Golf, Tennis, Business, which would appear to be a match for either the Hyatt or Hilton (the Hilton, not the Hilton Suites.)Given the 3.5* on HOTWIRE for $56, I wouldn't bid much higher on PRICELINE.Please use the site's link to HOTWIRE or PRICELINE to start your purchases, as doing so supports the site. Let us know how it goes and if you have any questions.
lclprettymama Posted January 2, 2009 Author Report Posted January 2, 2009 I would be ok with another, but I really would like the suite. I saw many others win that hotel with a $45 bid in the last few weeks. I was really hoping to get it.
AaronJB Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 I hope you get the Hilton Suites, but realize that using PRICELINE to get a specific hotel is a total gamble, and don't get your hopes up.Would the HOTWIRE 3.5* be of any interest?
lclprettymama Posted January 2, 2009 Author Report Posted January 2, 2009 humm.. I guess I should check it out, I was hoping to pay less and it always seems to me that HOTWIRE runs a little higher than PRICELINE when you bid. I might be better taking my chances. I've never been displeased with the hotels I've won. So I guess I should just add another area I would be ok with, and bid a little higher? Buena park only seems to have 1- 3.5* hotel and it is still close to Disneyland. How high should I go?
AaronJB Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 I wouldn't go any higher than $50 on PRICELINE. Given the $56 HOTWIRE listing, I wouldn't start going higher than that, or you could possibly end up paying more for the same hotel you would have gotten on HOTWIRE.
thereuare Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 So I guess I should just add another area I would be ok with, and bid a little higher? You actually have re-bid zones available which would allow you to add specific zone(s) and still ensure that you receive a hotel in the Disneyland zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and you're strongly encouraged to confirm your re-bid zones with the board before bidding. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
