Del Posted August 2, 2004 Report Posted August 2, 2004 Should I buy now or wait on hotwirwe. I am looking for a 4 or 5* strip hotel.
Del Posted August 2, 2004 Author Report Posted August 2, 2004 Hotwire has a 3.5* hotel (160 nov5-7) that does not match to anything. The business center added does not match Excalibur.
thereuare Posted August 2, 2004 Report Posted August 2, 2004 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please include all the amenities listed in order to make certain we are looking at the same property. For instance, i search for your dates and don't see a 3.5* hotel with a Business icon. As well, the Excalibur has last been reported as a 3* hotel.I think i know the identity of the hotel i'm seeing on my search but don't know if it's the same one you're seeing... please provide the full list of amenities and i will follow-up accordingly. Del Posted August 2, 2004 Author Report Posted August 2, 2004 It has casino, dining, pool, fitness, business ,golf, tennis and spa and yes it has three and a half star. I did search nov 5-7 and two rooms 160 strip only. Thanks
thereuare Posted August 2, 2004 Report Posted August 2, 2004 My guess is that the Flamingo has been ugpraded from a 3* to a 3.5*, although i have no evidence of this and will keep my eyes out for an indication that this is the case (or not).Regardless, i don't think that $160 is a great deal for a 3.5* hotel... there are many 4* and 4.5* properties available for your date (conventionally) for similar prices or just a few dollars more. I don't think you'll see 'true' deals for this stay until after Labor Day. Since rates fluctuate so quickly in Vegas i would protect yourself by booking a cancellalbe back-up now to lock in a price (in case rates rise) and monitor rates (Hotwire and traditional) in an attempt to beat your back-up reservation.
