melnickovich Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 I'm hoping to get some help with booking a 3* in Ft. Lauderdale or Hollywood (beach areas) for 1/6/09-1/10/09. I was able to get 5 nights at the Courtyard Ft. Lauderdale Beach last Feb. for 60 a night. I started bidding about 3 weeks ago and haven't gotten anything for that price. Over the last few days I have increased my bid to 90 and still nothing. I am going to try Hollywood as well, but would rather be in Ft. Lauderdale. Any ideas why I'm not able to get a room for around the same price as last year? I really don't want to go over 100/night, is this being realistic? I even called courtyard and explained that I had stayed there before, hoping to get a decent rate from the desk clerk, she very rudely told me I would have to use priceline. I'm getting nervous, time is running out! Thanks in advance.
AaronJB Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 January appears to be a popular time of year, and the cold weather in other parts of the country might be sending more people than usual to Florida on vacation. That, or something may be occuring during these dates (convention, etc.)A little surprised that $90 wasn't accepted for a 3* in Ft Lauderdale, given that HOTWIRE has a 3* in the Ft. Lauderdale Beach area for $105.Orbitz also has the Ocean Sky Resort for $115.50. Use coupon code FABSAVE10 to get 10% off = $103.95. There are a few other 3*'s in this price range on Orbitz (which you could also use the coupon on), too. Please use the site's links to PRICELINE, Orbitz.com or HOTWIRE.
