Colfax
Sorry you didn't get that inroom whirlpool you wanted. At last report the Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center was rated "Resort" (not 4*), and it still shows up in Priceline's retail section with a Resort rating.Could you check your acceptance page and confirm the Scottsdale Resort's current rating? Look under "MY TRIPS" on Priceline's home page. Thanks. You didn't need to lower your rating to 3.5* at the same time you added North Phoenix zone. Since North Phoenix doesn't have 4* hotels you could have added North Phoenix and bid for 4* in Scottsdale again. Thanks for all these Phoenix posts tonight. Enjoy your stay. Link to comment
tilepusher
As Colfax said, you don't need to change both the zones you're bidding for AND the star level in order to bid again; you only need to change one or the other. This is how the rebid zone strategy works: by adding zones that only have hotels of lower star level, you can bid again immediately without having to lower the star level or risk getting a hotel in a zone other than the one you originally bid for. I recommend that you read this post on Priceline Rebidding if you haven't already.Although Phoenix North does not have 4* hotels, it does have Resort properties, and any bid of 4* or lower that includes North Phoenix runs the risk of being upgraded to a Resort in this zone. There are several other zones in the Phoenix area that you could add to a 4* bid without exposing yourself to this risk. Link to comment
Colfax
tilepusher is correct. The North Phoenix zone has Resort bidding too. That means even if you'd kept your bid at 4* when you added North Phoenix you still could have been upgraded to a North Phoenix resort. If you ever need help determining which zones are safe to add feel free to ask before you bid.I'll edit the subject line from 4* to Resort for now. If you get back to us that the Scottsdale Resort is really 4* we can edit it back. Link to comment
