Priceline Hotel: 4* Toronto (Downtown) Renaissance Downtown

Bid $39 4* downtown, and was rejected.

Expanded to 4* downtown plus Burlington (no 4 stars available there) to allow for a quick re-bid, tried $46 and it was accepted.

I could have possibly saved a few bucks by aiming lower for my 2nd bid, but I assumed they would counter-offer me if a winning bid was only $8 away, and I didn't even think $46 was going to work between Christmas and New Year's anyway, so I'm just glad that I actually got something at that price!

I was kind of hoping for the Sheridan, but with savings like this, I really can't complain. It's pretty neat that it's attached to the Skydome as well! (...and yes, I still call it the Skydome!)

I used the PRICELINE link, and thanks again for creating and maintaining this site!

That Burlington thing you did is pretty smart :)

I can't believe you got it for $46. I went up to $52 and it wouldn't give me anything. Good for you :). Enjoy your trip!

Thanks, I probably wouldn't have figured out the zone-expansion strategy it out if it weren't for this site...

It was probably harder for you to book for a decent price because your stay was a lot longer than mine, so maybe Priceline ran out of rooms for one of those days and had to compensate for it by raising your average price per night, or maybe they just know you're at a bargaining-disadvantage if you need a room for an extended period of time...

Either way, at least you know you're going to enjoy your hotel! I've never been to mine, but we'll see how it goes!

Enjoy your trip as well!

clevercassius I'm with you on calling it the SkyDome, I'll never get used to the 'Rogers Centre', it just doesn't seem right.

Congratulations on your win, $46 is an amazing price for a 4* in Toronto!

And thanks for using the PRICELINE link.

P.S. You always have the option of rejecting the counter-offer from PRICELINE and continue bidding using the re-bid zone strategy at a lower price. Almost always you will be able to win a hotel for less than the counter-offer, and with Toronto having a ton of free re-bid zones for a 4* it's worth rejecting it (unless you have used up all your re-bids)
