jenpoll Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 Hello, Based on this forum's info, we have bid up to $120 for a resort in Rio Grande, PR for 1/17-1/21. We are anxious to book a hotel - is there still a good chance that we will eventually be successful if we keep trying, or is it likely that the hotels do not have Priceline availability for these nights? If we keep trying, should we start higher, or should we keep going back to the $90 that this forum has won a resort for? Thanks for all input.
AaronJB Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 Welcome to the site :)What is your max budget per night for this trip? Have you already booked a flight?
jenpoll Posted December 20, 2008 Author Report Posted December 20, 2008 We will spend the $225 a night that I can find on another site for the Wyndham but of course would be sick about not being able to get the bargain. We have booked flights. Thanks.
AaronJB Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 Orbitz.com has the Wyndham Rio Grande for $225 for an upgraded Ocean View ($450 for the first two, second two free) plus $100 food/beverage credit. If you use the coupon code FABSAVE10, you can get an extra 10% off both charged nights, which knocks $90 off the total. If this is of interest, please use the site's link to Orbitz.com.However, first let me see what else I can find.
AaronJB Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 HOTWIRE appears to have the Wyndham, as well, although the price ($195, you may see a slightly different price) isn't much better - I'd almost rather go with the Orbitz.com deal with the upgraded room and $100 food/beverage credit. That's the only listing that HOTWIRE has in the Rio Grande - Humacao area for these dates. In terms of PRICELINE, I think the Rio Grade area may take a higher bid on these dates than $120, given the prices I'm seeing. You may want to try $135 for your next bid.Are you interested in the Rio Grande, PR area only or also San Juan?
jenpoll Posted December 21, 2008 Author Report Posted December 21, 2008 Thanks so much for that research! We bid up to $145 today. At $145 I was offered a free rebid if I added $22. I did not do it as we still have time to keep trying. Does anyone have any insight as to what this means though? Am I to assume that I will get the Rio Mar (or the El Conquistador is the only other resort in this area I think) if I bid this amount? Thanks again.
