audreydoll Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 Thanks to the post below from rapazfreiburg, I was able to get the Omni for the weekend of June 26-28, 2009.Bid MTE 4* $140 RejectedAdded Brooklyn $145 RejectedAdded Chelsea $150 Accepted at Omni BerkshireI'm very happy to get such a nice hotel at a reasonable price this far in advance. I used the PRICELINE link to express my appreciation for this great website.
AaronJB Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 Thank you for posting your win, and a big thanks for using the PRICELINE link - both are greatly appreciated. While it's generally not recommended to go on someone else's win if they are bidding for different dates, it sure worked out in a BIG way on this purchase, as the Omni's lowest rate for these dates is $339 on the hotel website. Thanks again, and Happy Holidays! :)
thereuare Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Congratulations on your success!Glad to hear the previous post and information on the board was helpful in your own purchase... an excellent deal. You're also inbetween two of my often recommended eats... Ess-A-Bagel on Third Ave at 51st St has one of the best bagels in the city and makes for a very good, and inexpensive breakfast among locals. Another "locals thing" is the Chicken and Rice Cart at 53rd and Sixth, but only for late nite 'munchies' (even better after a few drinks) as they're open 7:30pm-4:00am (yes, the am and pm are correct)... more info on both in the WIKI NYC Restaurant SuggestionsThank you for sharing your results with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay. 2Bsavvy Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 What does the term mean "to go on someone else's win" ? I'm a new user trying to figure it all out. Thanks.
thereuare Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 What does the term mean "to go on someone else's win" ? I'm a new user trying to figure it all out. Thanks.Don't follow a bidding strategy posted for somebody else whose dates are different than your own... their stay could be high demand dates and your dates could be low demand dates, for which different bid amounts would be used for each. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
