MissEmi Posted December 17, 2008 Author Report Posted December 17, 2008 Sat Jan 24 .. one night .. put in 4 adults, 1 room .. priced $125+THANKS
slick_gd Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 I will assume you are looking at the 4.5* Toronto West listing.I don't think this one is either the Inter-Continental. Checking on the HOTWIRE vacation packages, both IC hotels show a different set of amenities and more often than not the amenities on the non-opaque side of HOTWIRE will match the opaque listing. The Marriott Eaton Centre or Hilton match the amenities but they would have to have been upgraded from a 4*. The Hilton is a more likely candidate for this. The Fairmont Royal York is the only other hotel in Toronto that I think could be rated a 4.5*. It has never been reported as a HOTWIRE win so I think it is unlikely. If you do plan on reserving, help support this site by starting your purchase using this HOTWIRE link and letting the board know the result.
thereuare Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 The Inter-Continental Toronto Centre has been known to use different amenities from time to time, so i wouldn't rule out this being the Inter-Continental since it could simply be a new amenity combination for this property (or it could also be the other Inter-Continental in this zone)I'll also add that changing your search criterial slightly, searching HOTWIRE for 2adults/2chidlren (still quad occupancy) shows a 4.5* property in this zone with Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Spa, a match for the Inter-Continental Toronto Centre, for $118/nite... you might want to play it this way if you're interested in this property, but after seeing this, i'm thinking the hotel above (when searching for 4adults) may very well be the same property... that would be my best guess, but i'm far from certain. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of futher help. MissEmi Posted December 18, 2008 Author Report Posted December 18, 2008 Thanks for the insight .. I think we may wait until the week of .. we're hoping for the IC Yorkville .. so I'll keep you posted :)
MissEmi Posted January 5, 2009 Author Report Posted January 5, 2009 Cost - $60Check in - Sat Jan 24 for ONE (1) NIGHT4* Toronto Downtown West Amenities - Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access** Hoping its the InterContinental Yorkville **Any insight? Thanks!!! :)
slick_gd Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 This one looks to be a match to the Renaissance, located adjacent to the SkyDome (Rogers Centre). That would be my best guess. The InterContinental hotels have been reported as 4.5* to the board. I see a 4.5* for $110 with amenities:fitnesspoolrestaurantbusinessinternetspawith a tripadvisor traveler rating of 3.5/5 based on 120+ reviews. This one matches the IC Downtown, and not the Yorkville location, unfortunately. If you plan on reserving, help support this site by using this HOTWIRE link to start your purchase and let the board know the result.
MissEmi Posted January 8, 2009 Author Report Posted January 8, 2009 Any tips on what to look out for in term of the Yorkville location? :)
slick_gd Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 The main difference is that lack of a spa at the Yorkville location. Another difference is the tripadvisor traveler review rating. Currently the IC Yorkville has a 4 out of 5 rating based on 109 reviews, so I would expect to see 4/5 based on 100+ reviews listed on HOTWIRE. This doesn't guarantee anything, but these are some of the differences to keep an eye out for.
MissEmi Posted May 27, 2009 Author Report Posted May 27, 2009 A friend ended up bidding $50 on PRICELINE and won the Renaissance for this stay. Thanks!
thereuare Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 Please remember to follow-up your threads with whatever you decide to do for the stay... certainly this win could have helped another user with their own bidding in this area. Also, when a friend will be doing the bidding or purchasing, please ask them to come here and use our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin the purchase.
