Hotwire Hotel: 5* hotel in vegas

I am wondering what hotels may be considered 5* for las vegas the dates I would like to go are either Feb 15 -19 2009 , and I get a 5* that is located in central strip. Or Feb 22 - 26 2009 and I get a 5* at $79 in central strip. What kind of hotel may i get for that price and date. My hunsband and I are trying to plan our honeymoon and want to go somewhere nice.

Also do you know how hotels give free upgrades??? a few friends of mine said to write letters to the hotel before we come and tell them we are going on out honeymoon and sometimes they give u a free upgrade. Have you ever heard of doing that, or do you have any ideas???

Hotwire reservations are non-refundable discount reservations that are often substantially less than regular price. While you can call the hotel before your trip (and/or ask at checkin) and ask if any upgrades are available, I would not go in *expecting* an upgrade. Additionally, keep in mind that whether or not you get an upgrade could come down to who you ask and *how* you ask.
