rb-boddabing Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 I just went through PRICELINE to get the following price for a car rental in Austin Texas from December 23 till 28th.Initially I was going to bid 10 dollars a day but priceline said that it was too low and that the bid probably wouldn't be accepted but that I had a good chance bidding at 18 dollars. So, I bid 15 dollars a day and it was accepted! Now, next time I will probably go lower than 15 dollars a day.I then decided to upgrade for a dollar more to an intermediate car. So, the breakdown was:16 dollars a day for 5 days and 10.5 hours-$80.00taxes and fees were $53.95Total: $133.95And, I did use the PRICELINE link here before I started. Hope that this info is useful to others.
thereuare Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 Congratulations on your win! It's usually a good idea to ignore PRICELINE's "low chance" message as it's meaningless and useful in determining a bidding strategy or amount. Can you add a reply to this thread with the car company which accepted your winning bid and we'll edit the topic title accordingly.Thank you for sharing your winning bid with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Have a great trip.
