Bids of $70, $75, $80, $85, and $90 all rejected. Added Summerlin, Nellis, Convention Center, and Freemont Street vicinity to get additional bids.

There is a 4.5* in the West of Strip area with the amenities: resort, casino, fitness, pool, restaurant, business, hi-speed and golf. While this property has not yet been reported, the 4/5 tripadvisor rating would make me think it might possibly be the Red Rock with different amenities showing than usual.

This is $96, which is only slightly more than what you've bid up to. Would this work for your needs?

As we discussed in your previous Priceline Hotel thread for the previous nite, this is during the CES convention, and sub-$100 isn't going to reasonable for these dates, imo.

I appreciate the comments...I'm just posting the rejected bids on here so others get a sense of what is working and what isn't. I'm planning to up my bid a bit on the next go around. If you'd prefer that I don't post unsuccessful bids, I'd be happy to oblige.

I think we're ruling out anything off the strip - thanks for the help though. A quick search for our dates on hotwire shows a 4 star hotel in Central Strip with the following amenities:

Casino, Fitness Center, Pool, Dining, Business Center, Golf (18 hole) and spa. Any ideas what this might be? It's listed at $159/night - not bad.

I posted a few months ago my winning bid during CES weekend. From 1/9 thru 1/12 I got THE hotel at Mandalay Bay thru priceline for $163 a night, this was the best I was able to get this weekend, however note I didn't try to bid the north strip b/c I didn't want to risk getting the Trump. Hope this helps.

Wes - I did see that you got TheHotel for similar dates. Currently we're trying to figure out whether we'd rather have TI in the center strip or TheHotel (obviously we don't know if we'd get either, but for the sake of this discussion..). We're also wondering if prices may come down a bit if we wait a little longer. That's what happened last year when I was there for CES. Any thoughts?

If you do decide to wait, you do run the risk it going the other way - the price could go up and/or the hotwire listing may not be there.

It all depends upon how actual bookings come in relative to anticipated bookings... if hotels don't get as many reservations as they expect coming in, or get a higher number of cancellations than they expect, then prices should fall... if they get more reservations and fewer cancellations than prices will rise. Nobody know how this actual vs. expected demand will play out, but Vegas has some of the most sophisticated booking software there is and is constantly analyzing all the known information and adjusting rates accordingly.

I'll also add that it was announced today that an agreement was reached to sell Treasure Island (still has to clear regulatory approval so a transaction won't likely happen before your stay, but no telling how this will affect rates)... may want to at least book a cancellable back-up in the meantime.

Update:

Bid $80/night for 4* strip north and was given a special offer for a 4* hotel in strip north for $144/night. I refused this offer and proceeded to bid $90 and then $100 both of which were rejected. Will wait the requisit time and then probably start my bidding at $105 or so for this same area.

I know that priceline guarantees only double occupancy, anybody have any experience on getting four people into a room after it is booked with Priceline?

Many people have reported that their hotel has accommodated their request for double bedded rooms, or other specific requests. I would think that if the hotel can do it, they will do it, regardless of how the room was booked (within reason). The key work though is 'can', there may be a time where the hotel just can't accommodate.

Well done in refusing the counter-offer. You'll most likely be able to win a room for less than that!

With PRICELINE, you can request with the hotel a room with two beds, but it is a request and up to the hotel to honor it - or not.

With some markets people have more success with this than others (for example, I strongly suggest NOT to use Priceline for more than 2 people in NYC.)
