Hotwire Hotel: Chicago Help

Hi all-

Haven't used hotwire or priceline before so i'm new to the board.

I found a 4-star hotel in the same area (NMA/Water Tower/Gold Coast) on the same date for $82 (one guest) but it only listed the fitness center, restaurant, business center, and internet icons. Does this mean it's NOT the Omni? In other words it's probably the Drake or Knickerbocker, etc, correct?

Thanks!

Was hoping to stay at the Omni but it doesn't look like it.

Also I noticed that when I put in 2 guests the price goes up substantially. If I have 2 guests can I just check in with one to take advantage of the better pricing?

Thanks again,

Brian

edit**one last question. Where does everyone see the tripadvisor ratings on hotwire? Can't find it for some reason.

Moved question to a new topic.

Odd that there's the price difference between the 1 & 2 - that's not usual, in my experience - you usually see the price jump between 2 & 3.

I'd actually much rather recommend the 3.5* in the Water Tower/Gold Coast/NMA area with the amenities: Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Tennis, Spa for $89. This is likely the Indigo, which is a really cute, really nice boutique hotel in the nightlife-y Gold Coast area. If this is the Indigo, it's one of my favorites - it has some touches - beach-house style furniture, hardwood floors - that make it feel more "home-y" than most hotels in the city.

The hotel in question above could be the Millennium Knickerbocker or Drake, but I'd be willing to guess it's the Knick. While the Knickerbocker has recently undergone a renovation, I think the potential Indigo would be a better deal.

If either idea if interest, it would be greatly appreciated if you could start your purchase by clicking on the site's link to HOTWIRE.

If you have any questions, please ask.

Thanks for the help. We are actually from and living in Chicago (taking a night off from the kid and surprising the wife).Anyway because we already live here I'm leaning away from the Indigo; almost going for more of the hotel than home feel lol

Any thoughts on the Knickerbocker? haven't stayed there before...

Also not sure if you saw the edited version of the post but does hotwire still attach Trip Advisor ratings when viewing the search results? Can't seem to find it.....

(oh and I'll be sure to book thru the link provided and post details..thanks again!)

Reviews have been mostly pretty mixed or negative for the Knickerbocker; I stayed there and didn't think it was too bad for the low (under $100) price. However, while I didn't think it was as bad as some have made it out to be, I could see where those paying $250+ would be upset - it's an old property and rooms are small. I do like the pictures I've seen of the revamped hotel (the renovations appear to have been substantial), but it's not a hotel I'd choose for a romantic night away.

HOTWIRE does still sometimes show tripadvisor ratings, but not with every property.

If you are going for a special night, there is the 4.5* in the Mag Mile/Streeterville area for $105, which would possibly be the Conrad or Intercontinental - both great choices for a romantic night out.
