Priceline Hotel: Appreciate help on bidding 5* Las Vegas Strip in 2009 June

Hello everyone,

I am looking for a 5* Hotel in Las Vegas (North/South Strip) from 2009 June 2nd until June 4rd. I have already checked the forum to get a feeling for the lowest prices which are offered (about $80 or $90 for Palazzo or Venetian).

My question is: When should I get the lowest prices for June? One or two months in advance or even earlier?

My current maximum bid is $90. I startet with $80 and added more and more areas without a 5* Hotel. All the bids were rejected:

5-Star Luxury - Las Vegas Strip Vicinity North - $80 --> rejected

5-Star Luxury - Las Vegas Strip Vicinity South added - $81 --> rejected

5-Star Luxury - Nellis - Las Vegas Speedway added - $82 --> rejected

5-Star Luxury - Summerlin - NW Las Vegas added - $83 --> rejected

5-Star Luxury - West of Strip added - $84 --> rejected

5-Star Luxury - Las Vegas Airport (LAS) added - $85 --> rejected

5-Star Luxury - Henderson - Lake Las Vegas added - $86 --> rejected

5-Star Luxury - Fremont St. Vicinity added - $87 --> rejected

5-Star Luxury - Convention Center - UNLV Area added - $90 --> rejected

If $90 is your current maximum bid there is not much more you can do other than continue to try once every week or two.

I have decided to book the Planet Hollywood thru a german tour operator. The price is 46 EURO/Night :) for a Hollywood Hip Room, which is about 59 USD at the current exchange rate (including all taxes!).

The location of the hotel is great so I abstained from booking a hotel via PRICELINE or HOTWIRE.
