KGill Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 We need a room in NYC for one night, and I was able to get the Roosevelt for $99 on my first bid attempt (3.5 star, $99 max). Maybe I should have started lower, but I figured that anything 3 or above for under $100 in Manhattan would be fine. I wish it hadn't been the Roosevelt, though - I stayed there once years ago, and the room was old and not especially clean. Frankly, I was surprised to see it rated as 3.5 stars - there must be quite a range of quality within the hotel. But the location is superb, so I am still happy! And yes, I remembered to follow this site's link to PRICELINE. I'll post a review once we get back - perhaps I will be pleasantly surprised.
thereuare Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 Congratulations on your win!The Roosevelt does have rooms of varying quality, and i've heard both good and bad experiences from guests there... but as you point out, for $99, i think this is an excellent deal.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.PS- as i often recommend to those staying in this area, you're near Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, and makes for a good, inexpensive, breakfast among locals Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
KGill Posted December 6, 2008 Author Report Posted December 6, 2008 Thanks for the tip about Ess-a-Bagel - we are both bagel-lovers, and will look forward to havign breakfast there on the 24th.
