ajwo Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 Used your service and PRICELINE link for 2 previous wins-thank you! This time, started bidding @ $75, for USE 4*. Added $, Civic Ctr/Fish.Wharf and finally USW. Bid for 2 rooms accepted @$87/room: Hilton San Francisco (on O'Farrell). I was offered a chance to extend stay. I then requested an add-on night but was rejected. Oh well...Thanks again!

ajwo Posted November 30, 2008 Author Report Posted November 30, 2008 Yea- I was really trying to get the Westin (USE)again. My reasoning (though one could figure many bidding scenarios...) was that I'd rather get the Westin at a higher value($85) than get the quick acceptance of Hilton(or other USW) @$75 ( I was seeing low dollar value acceptances at USW in the wins thread but none for USE). For me, I would pay $10 more to have the chance of getting the Westin (right on Union Square)- we had a nice stay there a few months back where they upgraded to large rooms for an extra $20 or so (well worth it). My family and I enjoyed it so much more there than the Hilton or other USW 4* hotels we've stayed at in the past. Took a gamble...paid probably $10 more for it. Oh well...I definitely could see someone bidding more prudently and selecting USW much sooner (at a lower dollar value) but I really can't complain about $85 in the city. Before I discovered BetterBidding/Priceline, I would have never been contemplating a stay in a nice 4star-type hotel in SF for under $100. Now, I've come to expect it!I'm sure you were not asking for add'l info on this win (I'm sure "youare" busy enough), but I do thank you for the add'l info-will keep it in mind next bidding...
