mtruther Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 I originally bid looking for The Palms hotel (*2.5) on the Isle of Palms, figuring this was off-season and hoping for a deal. Started bidding at $48 for *2.5 on Mt. Pleasent Isle of Palms and was rejected.Upped bidding to $56 by adding Downtown to the list, which was rejected.Upped bidding again to $60, as the hotel list here did not include anything over *2 in North Charleston - - Northwoods Mall - Wannamker Park. I was subsequently "upgraded" to a *3 Residence Inn, which I'll report back on. Might be good to add that to the Better Bidding Priceline list.Granted, Better Bidding can't have a complete hotel listing, which is of course fair enough, and this will work fine. It's the risk you take rolling with Priceline. I say "roll of the dice" noting that the lowest listed rate on the hotel website is $145 and gets some very nice reviews.
thereuare Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 Thank you for sharing your winning bid with the board and enabling us to add this property to the Priceline Hotel List.If you look at the comments at the top of the Priceline Hotel List, it specifically states NOT to use the list to determine which zones to use as re-bid zones. The proper way to determine your re-bid zones is detailed in this Priceline Re-Bidding Explained thread... please read it and feel free to ask any questions you may have before bidding for your next hotel stay, it doesn't have to be (nor should it be) a "roll of the dice".Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Hope you can make this work for your needs.Enjoy your stay.
