jave Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 Hi,This is my first post, so be gentle!I am trying to get 2 rooms- for 3 people, so ideally 1 double, 1 single, but 2 doubles is fine, in New York for the 2 Feb 09 to the 5 Feb 09, ideally in the Chelsea or Soho areas. What is the best/cheapest way to do this?Anything above 2.5 star would be fine! What sort of prices should I be looking to bid??Many thanks!!
thereuare Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Few things you need to be aware of in order to help you make a decision which routel would be best for this stay...PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel. While this may not be a very big risk in family friendly areas such as Disneyworld/Orlando, in NYC space is at a premium and hotel rooms are notoriously small... with many properties having a high percentage of rooms with only one bed and little/no room for a rollaway. As well, some hotel's "standard" room is a room with only one bed, and this obvioulsy wouldn't work for triple occupancy... in such a case you would have to hope that the hotel would be willing/abel to upgrade you, and if so, would likely come with an additional fee.HOTWIRE does allow you to search for up to quad occupancy (and guarantees accomodations for everyone included on the search... although the 'second bed' could be a rollaway or pullout couch), but usually costs a little more than PRICELINE.What is your expected budget for this stay? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. jave Posted December 1, 2008 Author Report Posted December 1, 2008 Hi,Many thanks for your reply. With priceline, could I just bid for 2 rooms, is that possible? so 2 could be in one room, and 1 in the other? Ideally we dont want a triple room- I am going with my girlfriend, and her brother, so I dont think we all want to be in one room, so 2 rooms would make more sense anyway! Not sure about an expected budget, just whatever is likely to be cheapest. I would guess around
