Priceline Hotel: 3* Toronto (North York East) Wyndam Garden

Needed to stay north of Toronto --- tried bidding 3.5*s without success up to $50.

Restarted bid at $38 and worked up by $2 increments for 3*s.

When bidding 3*s limited search to Markham, North York East and 1 free rebid zone.

Scored the Wyndam Garden at the 401 and Don Valley expressways.

Hotel was fine though charged $5 for parking. Bedding, decor, cleanliness were excellent.

Even with the North York locale --- we still found ourselves with 1 hr 10 ride north to Cannington, Ontario.

Turns out that we needed a hotel for Saturday night too but didn't have internet access. Stopped by the Wyndam at midnight and tried to talk them into giving us the same rate as on Friday night. Clerk wouldn't budge from CA$109.

Finally got internet access at 12:50 am but couldn't bid for Saturday night rooms --- limited to Sunday check-in. Is there a way to get around this limitation for super late check-ins?

Not much you can do about the late bidding that you needed, the cut-off time with PRICELINE is 11pm EST (regardless of time zone of city you're bidding)... with HOTWIRE it's 11pm local time to the city of the zone you're searching.
