Priceline Hotel: Help - NYC 9/24-9/27

I'm trying to get a hotel for 9/24-9/27 in midtown. I've tried all midtown locations (MTE,MTW,etc), with no luck. I've tried 4* & 5* going up to $160. Should I wait until it gets closer to the dates?
