LAgirl13 Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 I would really like to stay at the Palazzo or Wynn this weekend. So I need to book today! Both are on the Strip North. I would check-in 11/21 (tomorrow) and checkout on Sunday, 11/23. This is the first time I'm using this forum, but have read through many posts. It's also the first time I'm using Priceline. I need some guidance! What is the best price I can get? TIA!
LAgirl13 Posted November 20, 2008 Author Report Posted November 20, 2008 I tried bidding on Priceline twice. The first time for 5* North Strip for $60, in response they offered me $133/night, which I believe is the Trump Tower as it is available on Hotwire for $143/night. The second time, same search, I offered $79/night and got the same response, an offer for $133/night.What am I doing wrong? Is there any hope for me this weekend?
thereuare Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! With counter-offers of $133... $60 and $79 isn't going to be enough.I don't think you can conclude that the hotel being countered is the Trump, there is no way to make that determination. With that said, this could be the Trump, and with PRICELINE you must be willing to accept a hotel anywhere in the zone at the minimum star rating you select. If you're looking to only stay at the Wynn or Palazzo then PRICELINE may not be the best option for this stay.If you are willing to accept any 5* hotel in this zone, let us know your maixmum bid and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. LAgirl13 Posted November 20, 2008 Author Report Posted November 20, 2008 I don't think I saw your posting in time. I got the TRUMP for $120/night. Although I would have much rather have stayed at the Palazzo, I think it sounds like a good deal. I'm hoping it's a good hotel! Thanks again.
thereuare Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Thank you for sharing your results with the board. All reports indicate that the hotel is very nice, it's mostly the location off-strip that some have an issue with. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. mcremata Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 see... there's that trump hotel coming up again
LAgirl13 Posted November 24, 2008 Author Report Posted November 24, 2008 Just got back from my stay at the Trump. FWIW - We were very happy with our room. I would prefer not to stay there again, but my boyfriend said he would stay there again (he likes quieter places). I'm much pickier. I thought the location was fine. Basically it's on the strip just across from the Wynn hotel (you can walk there in 5-10 minutes). A few things bothered me: no cotton balls or Q-tips in the bathroom; large tub but no bubble bath or even shower gel (only bar soap); no tea in room; no place to grab a quick bite only fancy restaurant; and totally lame at night. The room was nice and for $120/night we were happy with it, but would prefer to stay someone else next time.
