Chezham Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 I need to book two rooms for these dates. Would like 4* in Copley-Theater, Quincy-Financial, or last resort waterfront. I don't want to get The Omni Parker House as I understand they give Hotwire/Pricline guests tiny rooms. Do you think I will get a better deal if I wait a bit? Also PRICELINE or HOTWIRE? Right now I don't see too many great deals but I'm afraid thngs may get worse. Any advice? Thanks!
thereuare Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 You need to decide if the lowest possible price is most important or having an educated guess as to the hotel you will receive before your purchase is more important. What is your budget (per room per nite before taxes and fees) for this stay? What are the current rates (and hotels if you're able to ID them) which are being offered via HOTWIRE for 4* hotels in any of your acceptable zones? If you're looking to avoid the Omni Parker then i wouldn't include the (Quincy Market - Faneuil Hall - Financial) zone in your bidding if you decide to go with PRICELINE, as there is no other way to ensure not receiving this property. However, this also eliminates a lot of 4* hotels in the area from accepting your bid (since there are a lot of 4* hotels in this zone)Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Chezham Posted November 20, 2008 Author Report Posted November 20, 2008 On Hotwire I am thinking about 4* Quincy Market (Boutique, fitness, restaurant, business center, hi speed internet for $124.00, which looks like the Onyx? It gets some mixed reviews. Last week I think it was going for $112.00. Since I am paying for two rooms for two nights I (plus all the taxes and parking) would like to stay in the $130.00 range...maybe go a little higher for a great place. There is also a 4.5 in Quincy-Financial for 155.00 which may be the Inter-Continental. Back bay is acceptable as well.I wonder what a good bid on PRICELINE for Copley-theater district would be? They rejected (as I expected) $109.00. I would definitely broaden my search if it weren't for that damn Omni Parker!

thereuare Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 So currently you only want to bid the Copley zone up to $130, after you have already been rejected at $109, and if that is rejected, then you want to try adding the Waterfront zone?If the above is correct, you can try as follows:At the 4* level in Boston you have THREE re-bid zones.
