thereuare Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 The Wailea/Makena property is a match for the Diamond Resort and Spa while the Kaanapali property is a match for the Royal Lahaina so that would be our best guess for each. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. justwant2hula Posted November 22, 2008 Author Report Posted November 22, 2008 For now, I am going to keep bidding on PRICELINE on the resorts for now...I haven't had any luck in Maui for those dates yet(I have gone up to $170) and have been trying for a couple months. I am not desperate---yet.
justwant2hula Posted December 1, 2008 Author Report Posted December 1, 2008 Rates are really coming down..maybe will jump on one of these instead of still trying bids on PRICELINE. What is the average percentage off HOTWIRE for a PRICELINE win(or isn't there one?)Help id 4* WaileaResortBeachFitnessPoolRestaurantCoin op laundryInternetGolf NearbyTennis NearbySpa servicesChildrens activitiesPriced on hotwire for $233 night. Thanks bunches,Kay
thereuare Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. There is no 'standard percent' that PRICELINE is less than HOTWIRE.This latest HOTWIRE property is a match for the Prince so that would be our best guess. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. justwant2hula Posted December 8, 2008 Author Report Posted December 8, 2008 This is really a PRICELINE win but I am following my initial thread and I used information with your Hotel ID information for 4* In Wailea Makena in my bidding. Maybe this info will help others.I 'won' the Maui Prince for $165 for January 15-5 nights. This is where I wanted to stay in spite of some of the less than stellar reviews! HOTWIRE had it priced at $214 for the same dates. I was getting a little irritated with my non success at bidding on PRICELINE since I had been trying for a long time and -lately- more seriously since I figured the space had to be opening up. So, I went back to Hotwire and checked each day of my planned stay and saw the HOTWIRE rate for the 4* Wailea-Makena was not posted for my last 2 nights of January 20 and the 21st. So this morning when I bid I changed the dates of my stay. Initially bid $150 for Wailea Resort and got the 'pay $25 more a night' and you get it. I backed out and Wailea/Kihei for $155 rejected. Backed totally out to start over and bid $160 Wailea/Kahului rejected, then added Kihei for $165 and accepted(FINALLY). Still homeless for the last 2 nights of my stay...but I am happy that I will be staying at the Maui Prince location.
