mykeyhope Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 So I booked a second hotel room for a family member in SF for Thanksgiving weekend and expected to get Hilton again since they seem to be one of the more common wins for a 4* hotel in the Union Square area. Was surprised to get Prescott instead for $79 a night, three nights total.Am looking forward to trying out a new hotel! If I want to swap out the reservation names for the Hilton and Prescott rooms, is that something I can do through the hotels directly? Will there be an issue that a name change is happening? Used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link as usual!
thereuare Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 Congratulations on your win... glad to hear you are excited and have the ability to try a new property.Technically PRICELINE reservations are non-cancellable/non-changable, which includes no name changes. However, you may be able to do a 'work-around' by calling each hotel, let them know that you are the person whose name is on the reservation, but the person your family member (business associate, etc) will be arriving first so you want to add their name to the reservation so that they don't have a problem checking in before you arrive. Most hotels will do this for you, but there are some who will still give the 'i can't make any changes to this reservation', but the add a name to the reservation will be your best bet. Even if each hotel notes the additional name in their system, i would still, if possible, have each 'real reservation name' person be available (ie- nearby and/or cell phone accessible) to come to the hotel should there be any issue at check-in.Thanks for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
