jerava Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 Need help identifying a 3.5* hotel in Downtown Montreal listed for $79. Looking to stay there from 12/30/08 to 1/4/09. Has the following amenities:FITNESS CENTERPOOLRESTAURANTBUSINESS CENTERLAUNDRYHIGH SPEED INTERNETSPALooked through the forum, but couldn't figure it out. Thanks...
slick_gd Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 This one hasn't been reported to the board, however, I noticed that HOTWIRE mentions a tripadvisor traveler review rating of 3.5/5 based on 60+ reviews. This matches both the Courtyard and Doubletree. Both of these hotels match all the amenities.Searching some other sites I notice that the Courtyard is more often rated a 2.5-3* and the Doubletree is typically rated a 3.5-4*. My guess would be the Doubletree. If you plan on reserving, help support this site by using this HOTWIRE link to start your purchase and let the board know the result.
thereuare Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 Actually, the amenities above match the Holiday Inn Select Montreal and that would be my best guess. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. swordman2000 Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 hmm... so HOTWIRE bump up Holiday Inn select into a 3.5* while PRICELINE keep it as a 3* hotel..BTW. i was checking trip advisor too, it seems like the hotel has bad carpet and security. sry for late reply.
thereuare Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 Well, the Holiday Inn was my guess... slick_gd guessed two different properties, so can't be 100% certain exactly what it is we're seeing above. As well, the 3.5* rating is new for PRICELINE and some hotels are still in the process of being worked if they will ultimately be upgraded or not. Also, note that there are two Holdiay Inn properties in this zone... the Holiday Inn Select and the Holiday Inn Midtown. (just want to make sure you're looking at the right property(s))Let us know what you ultimatley decide to do for this stay (it's not entirely clear, but i don't think you have bought the above yet) or if we can be of further help. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. tigergirl Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 I booked this hotel through HOTWIRE for $56/night (weekend) and it is, in fact, the Holiday Inn (listed as Holiday Inn Select Montreal-Ctr Vle-Dwtwn Conv Ctr). The hotel is beautiful and I think this is a great price. I would definitely consider it well worth 3.5*! :)
thereuare Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 tigergirl,Can you please add your win to the board as a NEW TOPIC and include the actual dates of your stay (so your win will also appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins) and the amenities shown before your purchase... you can still view this information by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Thanks.
