Looking to stay somewhere with pool, and wondering if this is the Intercontinental..Any thoughts or suggestions?

This could be either the Intercon or the Conrad - while it's more likely the Intercontinental, the possibility exists that it could be the Conrad. One note about the Intercontinental is that if you are looking for a pool for exercise, it is a fantastic choice; the pool is incredibly historic and beautiful. If you are looking for a pool more for relaxation at the end of the day, I'd choose a different hotel, as the Intercontinental's junior olympic pool is largely for lap swimming.

What I would strongly recommend if you can go w/o a pool is the Amalfi via Orbitz.com. That hotel is in the very nice River North area (which offers a lot of restaurant options and nightlife, as well as being a very short walk from Michigan Ave.), gets excellent reviews and offers both free breakfast and an evening cocktail reception. The Amalfi is $103.99 (25% off sale) via Orbitz on sale, but use SAVEBIG20 coupon code and get an additional 20% off = about $84 per night, which is unheard of for that hotel, even in the slower Winter season.

Thanks for the information. I felt like it was going to be the Intercontinental based on the Customer Favorite more than the amenities. If I end up being able to compromise on the pool, I will definitely check out the Amalfi. Thinking I may hold out and see if anything else pops up through HOTWIRE that might work. I love the Swissotel but it looks like there aren't any deals to be had there yet..
